Natural Pregnancy Achievement
by Lori Ramsey
One thing I’ve learned in my 37 years is that taking the natural approach to health is the best way. This holds true for trying to conceive as well and probably more-so. You want to give your baby the best possible chances, and having your body in tiptop shape and drug-free is the best way to start. I’ve seen so many women go to their physicians and before they even give a second glance at natural cures and remedies and are put on some prescription or going through some procedure that more times than not fails. And more times than not they conceive all naturally anyway, in an “Oops, we weren’t even trying” period. See my article The Paradox of Giving Up
I have witnessed too many times when family and friends would have problems due to taking birth control pills or shots, then have an hard time conceiving. I’ve seen too many cases of “unexplained” infertility which, in my opinion, was directly related to those horrible prescriptions. I guess I could really get on a “soap box” about this issue if I wanted to. What I’m trying to say is that if you are having trouble conceiving and have taken the pill or the shot or the patch, or any type of “birth control”, then be prepared to possibly have to “boost” your fertility in order to conceive.
I’m not suggesting that you don’t seek the advice of your physician, please do seek their advice. I’m hoping that you will open your mind to natural means of pregnancy achievement before submitting to prescriptions that help you ovulate or induce menstruation, or procedures that help you to become pregnant.
Natural pregnancy achievement starts with charting your fertility signs, basal body temperature, cervical fluid and cervical position. These three will help you to know when you are about to ovulate, when ovulation happens and will possibly alert you to pregnancy. If you are having problems conceiving, there are many natural cures and remedies out there that are gentle on the body. Herbs, over-the-counter medicines, and progesterone cream are a few of the ways to help boost fertility and helps to cure minor infertility.
After you’ve tried these things for a couple of months or longer and if you haven’t gotten pregnant, then you should consider medical intervention. Talk with your physician about the best treatments for you, and ask them about natural remedies first.
